Bryan County Democrats Settle
Differences Except In Two Rares
The ‘‘great and unterrified!
demoeracy’’ of the County of
Bryan went to the polls on Tues
day for the nomination of the
public servants who will serve
them for the next four years.
The election was quite as a
rule, with very little disorder
any where, and while in some
cases surprises were sprung, yet !
as a rule, the result was about’
what was expected ]
The defeat of Horace White
for Sheriff by Theodore Shuman
by a majority of 120 votes over
both White and Hartridge Harn
was worse than the friends of
White expected. l
Mr. Harn only received twentyi
four votes, he states that when
he saw he could not win, he
threw his support to White,
which explains in a measure the |
smallness of his vote. {
Judge Wise ran away with
Mr. W. R. Clanton, this was
more than was expected. I
Henry Davis made about the
race that was predicted, Joe
Lanijer defeating him by about
two hundred majority. Davis
would have run better had it not;
been that the friends of White|
caught his brother out working;
for Shuman, when they did, |
they slaughtered him in the Pem-|
broke district. !
The victory of Mr. George M. |
Edwards was a sweeping one,l
and one that is very complimen
tary to win over a good man likei
Mr. T. E. sullivan, Mr. Sullivani
made no canvass for the place.
The race for Tax Collector andt
Receiver of Tax Returns was
not settled in the primary, noi
candidate receiving a majority,

It's Easy with Pineapple
It's easy to prepare pincapple
with meat, too. Just open a can,
retain the syrup to be used in sum

with the meat if vou prefer. If
